Hello there!
My name is Sybrich van Terwisga. From a young age, I have always been very enterprising.
For almost 30 years, I have been able to work in the hospitality industry in various capacities.
I have owned my own pubs on Vlieland and Terschelling, and a beautiful sailing party ship for 75 people. I bought a 34-meter hull that at the time was the last sailing cargo ship of the Netherlands because it had carried freight all over the world until 2004. The biggest challenge was to dismantle this ship and restore it with respect and build it into my dream ship. I had absolutely no knowledge of this, but in six months I renovated the entire ship. Learned an enormous amount, did a lot myself, and received a tremendous amount of help from people who helped make my dream come true.

After that, I ran the Kerijf Bar on Terschelling for almost 10 years, including the snackbar. During the corona period, it was an enormous challenge for me to keep the pub afloat.
During the long lockdowns, I started beach driving. I came across a car that met all my requirements and simply started giving excursions with it.
This turned out to be a bullseye: I loved taking guests along on our adventure in a personal way.
I was able to express my creativity in capturing nature photos and nowadays also in videos that make you feel like you are there yourself. I was able to turn my hobby into my job and I still enjoy it every day.

Besides this, I also make cheese at the Pieterpeitshoeve, give massages, clean some houses, occasionally build websites (not just for myself but also for others), and you can find me one day a week at Jonker Watersport.

In May 2023, I was able to buy this house and realize this B&B in it.
I started with just the idea of renovating the bathroom upstairs so that in 2023 I could almost immediately start renting out the rooms. Due to some setbacks with a builder who could not properly execute my plans, I tore it down with Dirk and rebuilt it. By now the house is fully insulated, all the pipes have been replaced, underfloor heating with new floors installed, everything plastered, painted, and wallpapered. So, from old to a new-build house.

I am incredibly grateful to Dirk that he was able to achieve this together with and for me. Thanks to both our perseverance and hard work, we have established a beautiful accommodation in one year.

So for me, the new adventure started in 2024 to welcome guests and to resume my old profession as a masseuse so that more calm comes into my life and I can also convey that relaxation and calm to the guests.
